Certimac supports companies in their sustainable innovation through specialist consultancy services, technology transfer initiatives and industrial research projects aimed at the ecological transition and environmental sustainability of products and processes.

To better manage these opportunities, we have created a team of specialists in the field of materials and energy who offer technical advice to improve the performance and sustainability of materials, products and processes and make you obtain increasingly green and reliable results: circular economy, recovery of waste materials, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction of the carbon footprint, improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings and production sites.
A network of skills for environmental sustainability
In order to bring the best skills and the most advanced research tools to the service of green innovation processes of companies, we operate in partnership with ENEA and CNR, our founding members.

Certimac has also built over the years a consolidated network of qualified partners, including universities and innovation centers, with which it participates as a technical and scientific partner in numerous research projects in Europe, nationally and regionally.
Incentives and grant funding for green transition
Finally, we have created the Calls and Financing Division entirely dedicated to the design and management of European, national and regional calls for proposals to allow companies and the public administration to benefit from numerous non-repayable grants and incentives to support sustainable innovation, circular economy and energy efficiency projects.

Who is it addressed to?

Innovation in the green field, circular economy and sustainability are decisive elements for the growth and development of organizations of all sectors and sizes: from large companies to startups, from SMEs to the Public Administration, we design and implement personalized green innovation paths.
    There are many large companies* that turn to Certimac to direct their choices towards sustainable development, with projects that have reduced the environmental impact of production activities through changes in products and processes.

    * Companies with 250 or more employees or companies with turnover exceeding € 50 million and balance sheets exceeding € 43 million.
    The transformation towards green is proving to be a strength also for SMEs* that are increasingly relying on Certimac - often in supply chain projects and resorting to non-repayable funding - in their path towards environmental sustainability with benefits in terms of cost and risk reduction and towards more advanced business models.

    * Companies with less than 250 units or companies with turnover not exceeding € 50 million or annual financial statements not exceeding € 43 million.
    Starting from the signing of the 17 Objectives for Sustainable Development of the UN, the Public Administration has started in recent years a path of sustainable development that is not limited to the so-called "green procurement", but extends to concrete objectives of sustainability, the fight against waste, climate change, clean energy, economic growth, health and welfare. 

    Certimac supports several local administrations in projects of energy efficiency of buildings, urban regeneration and redevelopment, sustainable mobility, green development of ports, ... supporting both the technical-scientific and procedural aspects, as well as access and management of funding for interventions.

How we work

As a Research and Technology Transfer Body at the service of companies and public administration, Certimac promotes green innovation in the field of materials, energy and environment.
Certimac's green innovation experts are specialists with an integrated mix of technical and scientific skills for the ecological transition and project management for the timely management of sustainable innovation projects. They analyze the needs of the client and outline possible paths of innovation with well-identified timing, costs and activities to achieve concrete and applicable results.
The Tenders and Financing Division of Certimac identifies the possible sources of funding to support the client for the development of Industrial Research and Technology Transfer projects.
Founded and participated by ENEA and CNR, Certimac is based in the Torricelli Science Park in Faenza. It is an Accredited Laboratory of the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network and a member of Clust-ER Build and Greentech. An ecosystem of networks, skills and strategic relationships for the sustainable development of the territory.
We participate as partners in numerous international research projects for ecological transition that allow us to constantly invest in knowledge, tools and human resources.
