CE Marking: insulating materials

As Notified Body n. 2685 CPR (EU) 305/2011, Certimac is able to support the manufacturer of insulating materials with the analyzes and laboratory tests necessary to obtain the CE marking.

Listed below are the insulating materials that require the intervention of the Notified Body to obtain the CE marking for the verification of some of the essential requirements (which fall within the AVCP 3 system).

How to obtain CE marking of insulating materials
The procedure that the manufacturer must follow to affix the CE mark on his insulating product varies according to the type of product itself and its intended use.

The standards define both the type of chemical, physical and mechanical tests to be performed, and their recurrence over time - both requirements necessary to certify the compliance of the insulators.

In general, the Manufacturer is required to:
  • perform Initial Type Tests (or PTD - Product Type Determination);
  • implement a system of Factory Production Control (FPC). The production control guarantees the constant performance of the products over time;
  • classify and declare - based on the results of the tests - the performance characteristics of the products according to the indications of the standards.
  • How we can help you
    Certimac's CE Marking - CPR experts work alongside insulation manufacturers throughout the certification process, helping them simplify the process of compliance with national and international standards and building codes, providing time-efficient, cost-effective testing and certification and regulatory compliance.

    In particular, in its role as Notified Body - No. 2685 CPR (EU) 305/2011 for the issue of Certificates of Testing and Classification, Certimac performs all the tasks of a third party assigned to it in the process of assessment and verification of performance requirements and constancy of performance and for which it has been notified by the relevant Ministries, determining the characteristics or performance of construction materials or products in accordance with the requirements of the regulations in force.

    Certimac performs the analysis and laboratory tests necessary for the Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance - VVCP - and for the issue of certificates of constancy of performance.
