How to obtain the CE marking of plaster and plasterboard products
The procedure that the manufacturer has to follow in order to affix the CE mark on his plaster and plasterboard products varies according to the type of product itself and its intended use.

The standards define both the type of chemical, physical and mechanical tests to be performed, and their recurrence over time - both requirements necessary to certify the conformity of natural stone products.

In general, the Manufacturer is required to:
  • perform Initial Type Testing (PTD - Product Type Determination);
  • Implement a Factory Production Control System (FPC). Production Control guarantees the consistency of product performance over time;
  • classify and declare - based on the results of tests - the performance characteristics of the products according to the indications of the standards.
  • How we can help you
    Certimac's CE - CPR marking experts work together with manufacturers of plaster and plasterboard products throughout the certification process, helping them to simplify the process of compliance with national and international standards and building codes, providing efficient testing and certification in terms of time, cost and regulatory compliance.

    In particular, in its role as Notified Body - No. 2685 CPR (EU) 305/2011 for the issuance of Certificates of Testing and Classification, Certimac performs all the tasks of a third party assigned to it in the process of evaluation and verification of performance requirements and constancy of performance and for which it has been notified by the relevant Ministries, determining the characteristics or performance of materials or construction products in accordance with the requirements of the regulations in force .

    Certimac performs the analysis and laboratory tests necessary for the Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance - VVCP - and for the issue of certificates of constancy of performance.
    Gypsum and plasterboard products that require the intervention of the Notified Body
    Gypsum plasterboards are among the products classified under VVCP 3. In these cases, the product must be tested by a Notified Body, in this case by a notified laboratory.
    In its role as Notified Body for products classified with VVCP 3 system on thirty harmonized standards, Certimac operates as a Notified Test Laboratory with the task of measuring, examining, verifying and certifying the characteristics or performance of ceramic tiles.
    Gypsum and plasterboard products without the intervention of the Notified Body
    Prefabricated gypsum board panels with cardboard honeycomb and thermal/acoustic insulation panels coupled with coated gypsum boards fall under VVCP 4. Certimac can cooperate with the manufacturer to perform the initial type tests and factory production process controls for the CE marking according to CPR (EU) 305/2011.
