ENEA and CNR together for innovation

Certimac was founded by ENEA and CNR - the two main Italian research bodies - to provide their skills and know-how in the field of materials and energy and support companies in their technological innovation paths.


The value of research

The role of majority shareholders held by ENEA and CNR, strengthens Certimac's guarantee as an independent third party, enhancing its technical-scientific and instrumental skills in the field of research on materials and energy efficiency.

The laboratory provides companies with multidisciplinary know-how, innovative technologies and great experience in the management of complex projects by the two research bodies with which Certimac constantly collaborates.

ENEA, research and innovation for Sustainable Development

One of the two majority shareholders of Certimac is ENEA - Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development. ENEA operates at national and European level to support competitiveness and development policies in the following topics:

    • There are many synergies and active collaborations between ENEA and Certimac, both at a territorial and national and international level, in the development of R&D and innovation projects in favor of European industrial supply chains.

    The activities mainly consist of applied research for the creation of advanced materials and new components for the solution of industrial problems and for the development of new products and processes to support energy technologies with a view to sustainable economic development.

    In particular, the ENEA research laboratories located in the Evangelista Torricelli Science and Technology Park in Faenza dedicated to advanced materials offer innovative, multidisciplinary and integrated know-how in the field of chemistry and materials engineering.

    CNR, scientific research for the competitiveness of the industrial system

    One of the two majority shareholders of Certimac is the CNR - National Research Council.
    The CNR is a national public body with the task of carrying out, promoting, disseminating, transferring and enhancing research activities in the main sectors of knowledge development and their applications for the scientific, technological, economic and social development of Italy.

    The synergies and active collaborations between CNR and Certimac are different both at a territorial and national and international level, mainly focusing on the development of R&D and innovation projects in favor of the country's industrial chains.

    • In particular, the Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics (Istec) of the CNR located in the Evangelista Torricelli Science and Technology Park in Faenza dedicated to advanced materials is the Italian Pole of Excellence on Ceramic Materials, where the conception, design and development of new ceramics and hybrid materials for the benefit of industry takes place.

    Thanks to the scientific partnership with ENEA and CNR, its founders and main shareholders, Certimac promotes innovation in materials, energy and the environment. It offers businesses skills, tools and open innovation and technology transfer paths to support organizations in their innovation paths.
    Certimac works in partnership with ENEA and CNR to bring skills, qualified networks and research tools at the service of companies for the development of their competitiveness.
    We participate as a partner in numerous European research projects that allow us to constantly acquire new knowledge, cutting-edge tools and qualified human resources to develop concrete solutions to energy-environmental challenges.

    In our role as an independent third party we offer companies technical consultancy to improve the performance and sustainability of materials, products and processes and obtain increasingly green and reliable results.
    Certimac has developed over the years a strong expertise in accessing and managing incentives for funded research that it makes available to companies that want to innovate and grow through the correct use of European contributions.
